However, the interior is quite rustic and has poor room acoustics making it hard to have a conversation when it's crowded. The prices are on the high side, with two of us spending $100 including drinks. The restrooms could use a makeover. Not related to the review, but we would have liked to see more dessert options on the menu. It was concerning that my stomach was upset after the meal, possibly indicating a hygiene issue with the salad.
We had a great time at this restaurant. Be sure to try their specialty rum. You can park your canoe or kayak on the beach. It can get busy, so expect a wait of 30 minutes to an hour, but you can grab drinks at the bar and enjoy live music outside (don't forget to tip the performer). I had the shrimp and grits and they were delicious, while my companion had the spinach and walnut salad and loved every bite. The prices are on the higher side at $22 per dish, but the ambiance makes it worth it.
The music on Saturday was fantastic, though a bit too loud. We sat on the terrace, which had a lovely view. The Beacon burger was delicious but pricey. The fish and chips were overcooked and overpriced as well. It seems the higher prices were justified by the music and scenery. The service was excellent, even though the restaurant was busy.
The food at this restaurant was fantastic. I highly recommend trying the clam chowder, as it was delicious. The Caesar salad was also outstanding. Our party of eight was very satisfied with the service provided by Melissa.
We were camping in the area and wanted to try out Beacon restaurant. Unfortunately, they were not accommodating at all. They are not dog-friendly and do not offer take-out options. Disappointing. Riva Grill, on the other hand, does welcome dogs...
