Onda Azul - CALHETA

The wait staff was helpful and friendly but we had to wait for a long time for service at every step. We sat down, waited for a while, then a waitress came to us and asked if it's just the two of us. Then waited some more just to get the menu, although the tables have QR-code menus available which matched what the waitress brought on paper. Then later saw the clients next to us (who arrived at the same time) already finish their desserts when we were still waiting for our mains plates to be taken away. Meat and potatoes were cooked okay but i had to add quite a bit of salt in order to give it any taste. For dessert i recommend the tiramisu with honey biscuit and Madeira wine. That made up for the shortcomings. Oh and coffee tasted weird. I would compare it to instant coffee (although i heard proper coffee maker noises from the bar; sorry i cannot give a better description). Atmosphere was quite nice as it is located right on the beach. It's a pity we arrived when it was already dark.

I think the table booking is silly it means you can get to the restaurant just before the 1st sitting is ending and people coming in at the second sitting cannot get a table. What happened to just booking a time slot.

We enjoyed the food, and they offer good vegetarian options. The service was good, but it is evident that they are understaffed, leading to slower service. Nevertheless, we returned twice during the week as the prices elsewhere were clearly much worse.

Joli restaurant. Service impeccable. Repas délicieux.
