I ordered the beet salad, which was a generously sized portion with a flavorful honey glaze. I wish there was more goat cheese, but overall it was well done. My friend ordered the pizza and also enjoyed it, particularly the standout sauce. While prices were a bit higher for this type of establishment, I felt they were comparable to Earls. The service was good, with friendly waitresses. I would definitely consider returning to try more dishes.
I recently visited Windsor Rose for the first time, despite hearing some negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The staff was friendly and the general manager, Rich, was fantastic. The standout was the bartender, Billy, who was friendly, attentive, and made the best Chambord Royal I've ever had. He kept my drink full and the bar clean, always tidying up after customers. I will definitely be returning and bringing my friends. Great job, guys!
I have visited this restaurant several times since the change in ownership and management, and I must say it has done a complete turnaround. It is clear that the new owners are passionate about providing excellent service, high-quality food, and a customer-focused experience. The biggest change I noticed is in the menu - gone are the frozen and pre-packaged items, now everything is fresh and delicious. The pizza recipe has been revamped and is fantastic, the calamari was incredibly tender, and the wings were large and flavorful. The staff also seems to be enjoying their work, as I have always received great service. The servers are quick, friendly, and genuine, and the general manager goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is happy. It seems like many regular patrons know him by name. I believe that this change is bringing good things for the restaurant's future, and I am excited to visit the rooftop patio this summer.
This is a comfortable pub with some outdoor seating for those sunny spring and summer days. The deal here is 11 items for $11.00 at 11:00. Beer prices are typical. They didn't mention any specials. I had an open faced turkey and my friend had a beef dip. Both were reasonable. My soup a corn chowder I believe, was good. I've had better and worse. We had no problems with service on this occasion. So overall it stays on the list for places to go. If all I want is a burger its a reasonable place. Don't get your hopes up though based on the Gastropub name. In south Calgary that basically signifies indifferent food based on this and Tommyfield's. If I want real food, there's a place in Silverado that has this one beat out of the starting gate.
This place tends to be a hit or miss. Thankfully more hit than miss so I continue to come back. The food menu is decent and the quality of the food is good. The butter chicken is always fantastic. The drink menu is extensive and has some interesting selections. I have run into the problem of them being out of my selected drink a couple times. The rooftop is an awesome place to sit and have a refreshing beer on a warm day. There is lots of seating and televisions inside and is a great place to watch 'the game '.
