The Eatery By Capinas - Calgary

Our go to burger and pasta place in Inglewood! Joe and Cosmo are the heart and solo of this fantastic little eatery. Not to be missed!

Went here last night after touring around Inglewood in the late afternoon. Had heard from a friend that it was a good place for some homey Italian fare.With only two red wines to choose from, Cosmo should consider making it a bring your own wine location. The caprese salad was very good, but I think the boconccini was from Costco, so likely not authentic.The fried gnocchi sounded interesting, but unfortunately was another Costco purchase and grilled. Dry and pasty and not at all tasty.The meatballs were also disappointing. They were all the exact same size, so again, likely not authentic.The place has some potential, but unless the owners want to put some of their hearts and souls into the dishes, it will likely just be a carb joint with bland tastes.Would recommend other Italian restaurants nearby in bridgeland.

Eaten here multiple times. Sauces and noodles are all fresh with tons of flavor. Great Calgary start up story. Gnocchi and meatballs to die for.

Hopped into Capina's for a quick brunch in Calgary. Anyone from Calgary knows this city is crazy about brunch places. Was happy that I was able to get right in (luckily) no lineup. The two gents inside (assume owners) were warm and welcoming. The brunch menu was simple, but fantastic. Great food, served with a smile, piping hot and full of flavour.

I assure you the pasta is not authentic but of a lower end store bought regular dried such as Catelli. Sauces are crazy similar to jarred sauces from grocery stores but with added spice and meat. Nice folks and chatty but not what should be expected from an Italian eatery. Calgary does have a lot of good places to go for Italian at the same price. Nicely decorated but that is not what our group came for. We had expected good food. Not one of the six in our party felt the food was any good but agreed that The Eatery tried to give service , location was great and staff friendly. With the exception of the meatballs most did not finish their orders and would not return.
