Tastebuds & Co Cafe - Calgary

We came here after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor to visit Taste buds & Co. However this place is now under new management apparently and also have new menus. They don't fry for any more so don't expect omelets! This is apparently because the city said the had to install new ventilation systems if they wanted to continue frying and it would have been around $80k for this. So I ordered a poached egg on brown toast with spinach mushrooms and bacon. Needless to say the bacon was cold, mushrooms raw and egg close to hard boiled. I also ordered a flat white coffee. The barista told me that he does not hey these often but will try. The blend of coffee was good but it was definitely not a flat white.....The raison and bran muffin that came free with the coffee was ok. Wifi was not free and you had to be an existing customer of the cloud provider in order to benefit from this. The food for lunch was all pre prepared and already on display. There came in a few people after us but Overall not a great experience I'm afraid....

The homemade food at this restaurant is excellent for lunch. I just wish they would offer pan-fried potatoes with their breakfast menu. Unfortunately, they do not serve any potatoes for breakfast, which is the only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars. Overall, it is a very nice place and I definitely recommend stopping in.

I adore their breakfast choices, particularly their selection of teas. My favorite is the Marrakesh Mint - it's so delicious!

Very good for coffee,breakfast and light lunch. Healthy options, home cooked. Friendly, quick service. Muffins are a must try.

If you're feeling like a shepherd's pie or chicken pot pie, this is the place to go down town. Their food is well thought out and hits the homemade spot in your belly. :)I particularly love that they have Two Leaves and A Bud tea! This has to be the best bagged tea ever created! :)
