Sugo - Calgary

Wow! my first time here this evening, and what a superb meal My friend suggested it and shared that it has been kicking around a good 15 years i.

Ended up having dinner at Sugo this past weekend because of the reviews and honestly wasn't impressed.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Calgary. I have been here three or four times in less than three months since I finally discovered it! The food, service, and ambiance are all phenomenal. The Japanese Fusion cuisine offers a unique and delicious option in Calgary. I have tried the Ramen, Fried Chicken, Sashimi Donburi, every Skewer, Gyoza, Kimchi, Cucumber Salad, and during Pasta La Feasta Week, the Freaky Styley Dan Dan Noodles. Everything is fantastic, and the Gorilla Fried Chicken is one of the best dishes I have ever had. This restaurant is a must-try in Calgary and Alberta!

I was so pleased with my visit here! We had booked online for a Saturday brunch and ended up having the place to ourselves! The space is very comfortable and cozy. Everything on their menu sounded delicious, it was so hard to decide. Tempura soft shell crab benedict... This is what dreams are made of. We also tried the Orange Gochujang scramble. Fantastic. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other items. Service was very attentive, and they brought out Japanese donut bites for my birthday! Such an unexpected and thoughtful surprise. Definitely eat here Update have now tried the fried rice and chicken burger!

I recently had a unique dining experience at this restaurant through a private event with a set menu. The food was incredible, although there were a few items that weren't to my taste, overall I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The salmon and chicken dishes were some of the best I've ever had, and the bread served was a perfect accompaniment to clean up the plates. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant for events with 20 or more people, such as birthdays, graduations, or any special occasion.
