Schanks Sports Grill - South - Calgary

Attended a fundraiser at Schanks last night. We were met at the door by a couple of friendly staff that directed us to where fundraiser was to be held. Lots of parking when we arrived at 7pm. Service was very good and the only issue was we were told that it was cash only and we couldn't run a tab. We were at the back of the bar and it was great to be out of the way. Appetizers were good and plentiful. There were meatballs, salt and pepper chicken bites, cheese and crackers, veggies an dip. Our group did order a platter of natchos for $17.95 and we were disappointed that they weren't that nice. Minimum amount of cheese...kinda blah except for too many jalapeños.

Great place for sports and people watching. Lots of tv's, can be noises. Reasonable prices for food and drink, good service and staff. New outdoor patio.

Stopped at Schanks for lunch while spending the day in Calgary and it was a GREAT decision. Both me and my friend had the pulled pork burger with to die for dijon horseradish sauce. The burger wad filling and delicious and cheaper than most pullednpork sandwhiches ive had... although this was WAY better quality.They have a newly renovated patio, great for socializing with the same quirky charm of the inside pub. Would highly recommend. Reasonable prices. Good meal. Good atmosphere. Friendly wait staff.

Went on a Wednesday for the wing special. Sat outside on the new patio. Was my first time here and it wasn't busy at all. They have everything a sports nut could want. Pool tables, mini golf, virtual Golf, track betting, VLT etc. They don't charge cover for UFC events. The wings were like any other place that has wings night. Not much selection on different flavouring. Also had the loaded nachos and they were a huge serving! They were a little dry but good enough.Did not order a drink but my friend did and the drink menu looked kinda pricey to me. All in all a good experience. I think I will return to try the mini golf!

Schanks Sports Grill is centrally located providing a great experience if you are looking for somewhere to watch your favorite sports shows. There is a great selection of beers on tap as well as in the bottle. The food is your typical pub fare at reasonable pricing. They have added two outdoor covered patios that can be heated in the evening should it be required. Great venue for a large group of people.
