Pips Board Game Cafe - Calgary

This is a fantastic place to hang out with friends, enjoy some snacks and drinks, and play one of the many board games they have available.

This was my first time at Pips restaurant. The servers were attractive and very welcoming. The manager was also incredibly helpful. Unfortunately, I have never had such awful food before.

This restaurant is fantastic! It was packed with young couples and groups, and although I didn't see many families there, I think it would still be a great place to go. The service was absolutely incredible, top-notch in every way.

We love spending time at Pips - as a couple, double date nights, with kids or Monday Mingles. Staff is friendly, good food, delicious desserts, many drink selections and there certainly is no shortage of games to choose from. The best part is the readily available game masters willing to teach you a new game on the spot - way better than spending time reading through all the rules. Worth checking out.

This is my third trip to PIPS Board Game Cafe. I wanted to ensure that my experience was not clouded by my love for gaming but for an actual beneficial foodie experiential review worthy of Trip Advisor. When I visited in December upon opening, I was impressed by the concept of an interactive gaming store plus a cafe. The options were, have a coffee in a cafe, have a meal in a restaurant or play board games like a party. Or any combination. However, the last few visits I was blown away by the quality of the food! With nibbles of bacon wrapped dates, hummus & pita and candied bacon (notice that I used bacon twice) to mains of homemade soup, mac&cheese to die for and mounds of filled sandwiches, PIPS not only succeeds as a unique store - they EXCEED in culinary arts. The management and staff are amazingly friendly and there to help. Shout out to John, Danni and Victoria for sitting with me and chatting about their venture.I have seen the references to slow service and long wait time, and one has to realize that this is not a full-scale restaurant and has minimal serving staff. I have the food well worth the wait and this allowed me to peruse their immense selection of games for rent or purchase. This certainly did not dimish my culinary experience.
