Patisserie Du Soleil Bakery Cafe

I stopped by the bakery today to pick up some items. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but I bought a day-old sourdough loaf, a pumpkin loaf, and a lemon poppyseed loaf. The total came to $24. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the pumpkin and lemon loaves - they weren't very good, especially for the price. However, I did enjoy the sourdough loaf.

A friend recommended this restaurant to me and I visited a few times. On both occasions I found myself sitting with an empty cup for over 10 minutes. The restaurant was not busy one time and completely empty the other. When I mentioned this to the staff, I received a sarcastic apology and no effort to improve. I ended up going to Tim's to get another cup of coffee and was late for work. The staff at Tim's was much friendlier. The food at the restaurant is delicious, but good service is just as important.

Mixed feelings about this bakery/cafe as I visited here with high expectations. My salmon benny was loaded with delicious salmon and the eggs cooked to a perfect medium, but it was cold, not even luke warm. I would have asked them to fix it but it was so busy, and the three women were run off their feet with no check-in at our table. The omlette and fruit bowl my family had were great and did not have issues as were the baked goods. The aging decor deserves a makeover. Other than pictures of the Eiffel Tower, there is no French feel to this place. The food is certainly deserving of a return here on a quieter day, and I would give it a second chance.

It was on my list for a while after I tried one of their cakes in a friend's house. The cake was good and not overly sweet/sugarly. I tried their pastries yesterday and they were great. Coffee was average though. Its a must try place, we will definitely be coming back.

Amazing bakery. Great food. Even greater prices. My only complaint is the coffee. Bakery coffee is always delicious but this was just bad. I got two cups and the second was worse than the last! It basically tastes like coffee flavored water. Which usually means the beans aren't ground fine enough. Other than that, love this place!!
