Typical mall chain restaurant adequately clean, but not special. Attentive service. All you can eat pollock special; came with two generous (if greasy) pieces, a little bit of coleslaw, and fries that might have come from a garage sale. I didn 't ask for more than the original fish, but it came anyway. I can 't eat large portions, and asked for a to go container. Response was that, as it was all you could eat, they couldn 't do that. When I expressed dismay that the unordered fish would be thrown out, we got into the logical closed loop of all you can eat we can 't do that. So ... very wasteful. Overall meal? MEH.
Save your money or go to a different location. So called fish was nothing but overcooked batter. Terrible and won't be back to this location.
My sister and I visited the Joey’s Restaurants located at 350, 3545 – 32 Avenue N E on Saturday, June 13, 2020. We both had a two piece fish and chips with Wild Alaska Pollock. We appreciated the fact that there were proper distancing protocols in the restaurant and that tables were blocked off. Our server wore a mask. We were given their old menus, which were in binders. Not sure why they aren’t using disposable menus like other restaurants. After ordering, we were given cutlery wrapped up in napkins. The server also brought out a caddy with salt, pepper, two kinds of vinegar, as well as a bottle of catsup and a bottle of tartar sauce. We think that the condiments should be in small containers either on your plate when the food is delivered or brought to you, if you ask for them. The portions of fish were very generous and were hot, as well as the fries. There was also a small portion on the plate of coleslaw. The value was good at $15.00. When we arrived there were people eating at three other tables. As we started eating, we were the only customers in the restaurant. Before leaving, we decided to go to the washroom, one at a time; as there is only one stall in the woman’s washroom. I got to the door and there was a sign that said something like occupied and to come back. The server heard us talking and said that she had just washed the floor and to be careful. I came in and the floor was pretty wet. When I went to wash my hands after using the toilet, there was no soap in the dispenser and it appeared to be broken. My sister said something to the server and she said she would tell someone. If the dispenser was broken and it appeared to be something that just didn’t happen, someone should have walked down to a London Drugs which is in the same strip mall and purchased a couple of bottles of pump soap. We wondered if they didn’t notice the soap dispenser issue, how the staff are washing their hands after using the washroom and serving people or cooking food. We will not be going back there.
We ate here to try somewhere new. I mean how can you mess up fish and chips? We were still starving after eating our king cut halibut and chips $30) and 3 appetizers! The fish was greasy and soggy. If you put the deep fried pickles together, it wouldn 't even be 1 full pickle. Stay clear of the lobster mac and cheese it was probably the worst part of the meal). You win some and loose some. We definitely lost with this one!
