Chianti Cafe & Restaurant - Calgary

I love this restaurantIt has been in the community for such a long time.

Great food! There are so many dishes to choose fromYou get fresh bread to start, and the service is quick and very friendly.

This Chianti's is definitely one of the better locations in the city! I've been several times and have never left disappointed with my meal - always the spinach fettechini fiorentina sun cream sauce! We've had occasional instances of slow service such as forgetting drinks and remembering them too late or else bread being brought with instead of before the pasta bit these things have been very minor. For the price you pay ($8.99 on Sun, Mon, Tues), there is a lot of bang for your buck! Would totally recommend for going out on a budget or if you need your carbs fix!

We started with the calamari appetizer which was overdone and rubbery. My wife had a salmon and ravioli dish. She said the salmon was not fresh and nearly inedible. The ravioli also is not good. I had the spaghetti carbonara. I have probably had this dish at 10 different restaurants and this was by far the worst I've ever had. On the plus side the draft beer was cold and the wine was fine. Prices are modest.

I used to take my kids here for a treat years ago and my oldest and I decided to stop by again when she was in town. The menu is extensive but the super deal is Chianti's delicious pastas at only $9.99 on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Compare that to a boring fast food burger combo! Our plates were so full that we took the left-overs home to have another meal. We will keep going back to this wonderful family restaurant.
