This is a takeaway not a restaurant, we have been using it for a while now and find it generally good, they do make some mistakes with rice and chips so worth checking your order when you leave as we have had to go back to pick up what has been missing in the past. Today was a similar day but on this occasion they got the order wrong and my dish was like eating pasta on it's own with no sauce. I was having special chow mein and I think they had omitted to out the sauce in when cooking, I telephoned them to tell them it was not up to much and after some time they said I could come down and have it replaced, which I did, the second one was better but not up to the usual standard though why I should have to pay to collect twice when I order here I don't know. Only one poor meal in quite a few visits but with the smattering of mistakes and on this occasion my wife ordered chicken and black bean sauce with peppers and mushrooms, the peppers had been omitted. I am not sure I will be risking ordering from them any more as if you have to return every time at your own expense and time it becomes very expensive. If they had offered to bring my replacement or maybe given me a partial refund I would have been much happier to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Got a take away twice now once last weekend that was fine food lovely but second time round this Friday night the food was poor both me and my partner had bad stomach ache all night and ended up ill all night and into the next day so will avoid this take away next time will try else where.
I have been a loyal customer of Xin Ying (not Xing Ying) for years now and I can confidently say that I have never been disappointed with their takeout food. The staff is always friendly, the food is consistently hot, and the portions are generous and delicious. While I usually opt to pick up my order rather than have it delivered, I can attest to the fact that on one occasion when I did have it delivered, it arrived on time. Additionally, Xin Ying cooks the best salt and pepper king prawns I have ever had from a Chinese takeaway. The prawns are large, perfectly cooked in a light batter, and served with sautéed onions, green peppers, and fresh chillies. Absolutely fantastic.
I have ordered from this restaurant multiple times and have typically picked up the food, which has always been delicious with generous portions. However, tonight we decided to order delivery through Just Eat. Although the predicted delivery time was 6.15, the restaurant changed it to 6.25 and the food did not arrive until 6.50. The chow mein, which usually has plenty of meat, was mostly noodles with very little meat. The sweet and sour chicken in batter came in small pieces in a plastic tub with the sauce already added, resulting in a soggy and chewy mess rather than the usual crispy batter. It seems that the restaurant may be treating Just Eat delivery customers differently or has experienced a decline in quality.
