The Lord Nelson Inn - Calderdale

I wish this was our local spot. The welcoming staff, great beer, and lovely atmosphere made for a fantastic experience. The beer garden is perfect for sunny days. This traditional pub is a gem. Don't miss out on the port wine challenge! Although we only stopped in for a couple of drinks, we wished we had more time to stay all afternoon. A true Yorkshire pub experience.

This pub is fantastic with welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. We have visited this place numerous times during the year when out walking our dog. We are always satisfied with our experience.

The pub provided food for the event, consisting of platters of basic sandwiches (egg mayo, tuna, and ham) and small cakes cut into quarters. While the food was nothing special, just standard shop-bought items, it was on the pricier side considering it was supposed to feed 40 people. Additionally, the tea and coffee served in thermos flasks were not very hot. Overall, it was a pleasant afternoon, but I would recommend organizing your own food if you are looking for something more substantial.

Every few years we travel to Luddenden and always visit The Nelson, A very friendly place which serves excellent food on a Wed night and weekends and pulls an excellent pint. The quiz on a Tuesday is worth playing We will be back.

Unfortunately, the sunday roast was a long time coming, dry and lacking in taste, and the carrots were barely cooked. The sandwich with chips was ok, though, but the piped music was intrusive and tinny. I can't really recommend the place on the basis of our experience this time.
