It was very close to our B&B, and when we arrived in early afternoon with nothing to eat all day, the restaurant re-opened so that we could dine. The owners are wonderful. They made us feel like family, and the food was so delicious! Over the 2 days, we sampled pizza, salad, pastas, and the last night, the 4 course meal. We were stuffed but the final course of a thin, breadcrumb coated, and fried veal was superb!
We booked in advance this restaurant, family run, near the town center, as we had planned to have lunch here after a morning of sight into the ancient Byzantine village near Calascibetta. There were nine of us, so we ordered a variety of dishes, both meat and seafood, which allows us to make a judgment on a large amount of them. The dishes we tried were all served in large portions, and to be rated good or excellent. We quote among the good ones the tagliatelle with champignon, among those great, all others: the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms (this was a choice for five of us), grilled calamari, fried calamari, meat tagliata with porcini mushrooms, mixed grilled meat. The service was friendly and fast enough. The value for money was great: about 20 Euros each, which also include some side dishes, water and good house wine (the coffee was offered). Overall, the restaurant is very recommendable.
Been there for lunch on Good Friday. It was already late but they accepted to set a table for 9 people and the food was very good and tasty. Great prices and nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit, recommended.
