Dundees on the Waterfront - CAIRNS CITY

We stopped in on our first night in Cairns and were told we could not get in without a reservation. The restaurant was more than half empty and they made a show of showing us all the reservations. But they were for 7 PM and it was 7:05 and the place was half empty. My travel partner really wanted to go here so we made a reservation for the following evening. That worked out well as the service was good and the food was excellent. I was a little put off by the first experience but I would still recommend this restaurant for the location, the service, and the excellent sea food.

We did the pre-set menu with a few extra drinks. We got to try crocodile and kangaroo, the food was wonderful. Wait staff was really great.

My family and friends love coming here for a meal, it doesn't have to be a special occasion. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and there is great view of the boardwalk. We can never fault the food.

This is by far the largest Restaurant on the Esplanade. It has a really good vibe going for it. Too bad the food did not measure up. We had breakfast and it was disappointing. Not a lot of flavor with much of it. Place was always busy so someone liked it.

After our morning stroll down the boardwalk we enjoyed breakfast here. The servings were perfect size and not one person in our group didn't enjoy their meal. Drinks were fresh and muchly enjoyed. Certainly a place to go!!
