Having phoned in the morning to reserve a table, I was rather surprised that the owner was so prescriptive about what time we should...arrive but understood that it's a busy time of year. Turning up exactly on time, after a significant detour, we were gruffly informed that the restaurant was full. Rather confused by this reception we politely explained that we had made a reservation. The curt response was that some other English people had turned up and he had thought they must be us and had given them our table. Perhaps asking their name might have been a good idea!? Realising his mistake the owner rather than accommodating us somehow or offering us a drink while we wait for a table to become available became incredibly aggressive and rude. Wouldn't touch this place with a very long barge pole! Have never encountered such a rude maître d'. Dreadful place.
I have been a guest in this wonderful restaurant morethan a decade a go and came here from time to time! Rare are the places that keep up, better up or make your dinner an unforgettable experience! A place and people you love a meal...you remember! I do not belive in les bonnes tables du Lot since it has become a bit of a disappointment for some unknown reasons, so I rely on my own experience and not on stars la Garenne has a Michelin one) and I am glad if my readers enjoy! The menue was so amazingly great, the starter ws the best I ever had: Escalope de foie gras..... Then we had Meat, others pintade or lamb then chease... and the BEST DESSERT! Thank you so much for this fantastic dinner! You made the birthday a day to remember! We are deeply impressed by the quality, the continuity, and the kindness! We hope that you stay for still some years this is French Gastrnomy at it 's best! The owners are wonderful, and even speak some Spanish! Merci! Thank you!
4 family dinner: Pro and warm welcome. the products are fresh and the local cuisine without leaving subtlety. prices are soft. in short, we recommend it without reservation. I think this table is even warmer in winter.
On the occasion of a short passage to cahors we tested we restaurant (one of the few opened on the evening). due to a problem of staff in the room, it was the chef who assured the service. It was curious but very nice! excellent refined cuisine tasteful and tasteful! efficient and fast service as needed! beautifully decorated setting and soft atmosphere. What else do you ask? to return to it surely!
We came for the second time in week the chef was alone at the service, only two busy tables we were in the room inside we took the menu at 29 euros well cooked very classic but good kitchen.Daddy dick !menu to 29 too expensive agen a star menu week to 27 euros with 17 different services!!!
