Le Vietnam - Cagnes-sur-Mer

This is a pleasant restaurant serving very good Vietnamese food. The owner is very friendly and the atmosphere is excellent. Would definitely recommend it.

I have visited this place many times with family, but it is several years since I have reviewed it on trip advisor. Whilst I am scoring one point lower this time it is purely a reflection of other places I have reviewed and trying to be consistent . If my review was based just on the food it would be 5/5. The food is excellent, and if you want authentic Vietnamese food this place is a must. The menu is excellent, and also provides an English translation. Although I was dining with native French speakers and a fluent French speaker its always handy to have the translation provided.We were greeted by the friendly and cheerful owner who every time we visit makes us feel welcome.The food was wonderful. The nems (there are a variety to choose from) are especially good to start. To finish we were given sarki , which is a nice touch.Since I wrote the last review of this restaurant I have become a lot more restrained in my high scores, and the one (and only) disappointment that I am afraid must be reflected in my score is the restaurant is very overcrowded and there isn't an awful lot of space between table. On that subject booking is essential! We tried to pop in for lunch a few days earlier, and it was just a none starter. I can honestly say I so wanted to give this 4/5 but given the dining area to be more spacious I just wouldn't be fair on other places i've reviewed! (I gave this place 4/5 a few years ago, nothings changed except I've become harsher!)

We visited this evening and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The starter salads are really excellent. The service was attentive and friendly. All round, this establishment deserves its accolades on TripAdvisor and I recommend a visit.

Luckily we got there early as by 8.30pm the place was full. Obviously a place used by locals and not just tourists. The food was good. The dishes were full of fresh vegetables. The meat, I had chicken was delicious. Friendly, can appear slightly over the top, service but a very jolly waiter. The only downside is the lighting which is way too bright. Softer lighting would improved the atmosphere which feels a bit clinical. I will definitely go back as I enjoyed the food.

I have been at this resto a couple of times. The service is always friendly. I have had a huge craving for Pho-soup, and this was anyways an disappointment, I have gotten better also. So if you look for a nice, small Vietnamese restaurant with friendly service, you have it here. Don't keep your expectations too high on the food based on the reviews.
