Seems very disorganized and mismanaged. There were two young ladies just standing around when there was a line almost out the door. The place was a shambles and looked like the it could have used a broom and the tables wiped down. The real kicker for me, and if I were a food inspector I would probably take note of, was the girl who was making waffle cones. She had a drinking glass with no lid or straw right next to where she was making and storing fresh waffle cones. She would drink from it as she was making them and she wasn't washing her hands or wearing gloves. Long wait. Definitely one to miss.
I found this ice cram parlor in maps and I'm glad I did. It was easy to find and in a good location. We were a little surprised when we entered and saw how long the line was, but it didn't deter us as there were ice cream freezers lined with ice cream the length of the line. You needed that wait time in line to decide which flavors you wanted! They have the huge selection of premium ice cream. You can also get sundaes, flurries, smoothies and the like. The next thing that amazed me was the size of the portion. The baby size cone is larger than most ice cream parlors medium! We were honestly like kids in a candy store! The two young ladies working were running their tails off but were laughing and smiling with each other and the customers. They not only earned every penny of their pay, but should earn a big bonus at the end of the season!!!! The line was 20-30 people deep the whole time we were in there. Our 2 cones:a baby scoop hand dipped in a waffle cone and hubby's medium is a regular cone was$9. Seemed pricey to hubby when we first went in, but we got our monies worth for certain!!
I can't tell you how many times we have been through this area and had no idea it was there! Glad we stopped. There was quite a lengthy line, but it was worth the wait. Prices are kinda high. But, the portions are larger than you might expect. All ice cream tasted great and was served with a smile.
Looking for an ice cream stop on our way home from Traverse City and found Cadillac Ice cream along our route. The ice cream was great and the staff (Genna, Cole and Skye) were very courteous and served with a smile. Skye made me one of the best cheesecake flurry’s, better then any DQ Blizzard.
