A rustic place is located a few streets of Cabanacondes main square, with magnificent views over the mountains, especially from the top floor bar and dining area. The rooms are pretty simple. The owners Walter and Maria are very hospitable and helpful, but Maria does not speak English so that you need to speak Spanish to communicate appropriately with her. You can also visit the nearby Hotel La Granja del Colca. Breakfast was solid. Like dinner, it was a simple home-cooked meal with Peruvian standards. The hotel could do with Sone update, but probably reflects the attitude of tourists in Cabanaconde while Covid: It seems that many businesses in the city have closed. Make sure you bring your own drinking water as no one has been provided in our room.
I had a trout with herbs from the Andes with a good white Peruvian wine and the next day I had a lama steak with red Përuvian wine. I don't think I could find better in town...
After 4 hours climbing from oase to Canabaconde we arrived in Kuntur Wassi hotel. We received a great breakfast and afterwards we got a very nice room with a view over the vulcanos. Our room was close to the veranda with sunchairs. We recommend this hotel.
Based on reviews, we booked 2 days, but had to go after the first night. For the 3-star hotel is ok, but they invite as it is 4 stars that is absolutelyley far from the truth. Small rooms (we have changed the rooms 2 times the same result), no hot water, small portions of food, licking roof and bathroom, workers have found breackfast with customers (talking laud)... short, we have 4 stars hotel for the same price only in 15 km from this terrible place la casa de Mamayacchi. Great comparison with this terrible hotel!
