Diamond Shoals - Buxton

The menu is quite extensive, filling three full pages, and there are special fish options displayed on chalkboards throughout the restaurant. Not having quite the appetite I used to have, I opted for the salad bar and the fried calamari, which is actually listed as an appetizer. If you enjoy tentacles, this dish is a must-order. My companion chose the blackened tuna cooked medium rare, served with a baked sweet potato and green beans. The salad bar was fresh, though they were out of croutons during our visit. There were six different dressing options available, which is nice. The ambiance is very coastal, with a charming room divider made up of jigsawed fish. I almost missed the bar area when we were seated, as I’m a shell collector and can never have enough shells. As I was writing my review, Chloe, our server, kindly brought me a sand dollar, which added a nice touch to our experience. Life is good—and so is the food!

The wasabi had a strange texture, but the waitress was friendly and made sure our drinks were always filled. The interior was clean, but I likely wouldn't come back.

We always make it a point to visit Diamond Shoals at least once, if not more, during our stay. After camping, we stopped in for breakfast before checking into our rental. The service was outstanding, and the restaurant has a very clean and welcoming atmosphere. The food is consistently fresh and of high quality. I ordered the hash and eggs with grits, and it was delicious. Be sure to add this restaurant to your list for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Also, don't miss their seafood market next door for the freshest fish available!

Good food GREAT SERVICE a little pricey but that 's OBX! Bill for 11 adults (3 couple s SHARED MEALS subbing the $7 salad buffet up charge for 1 side with no share fee 1 adult ordered off the senior menu $16) 2 children was $440 before tax tip. Seems Meals average $30 per adult.

Food is very good. I had a service animal and could tell nobody was thrilled about that; however, nobody made a snarky comment and I appreciate that. The soup is very good, the hushpuppies melt in your mouth, and the salad bar is top-notch. We would definitely eat here again when in the area.
