The music selection was excellent, and both the steaks and seafood were skillfully prepared—clearly to the satisfaction of my Montana friends. While I agree that the menu could use fewer fries and more baked potatoes, and perhaps a touch more bread instead of crackers, I didn't miss them at all. This place has a unique charm that sets it apart and is well-managed in my opinion. The service was fantastic; the cheerful and attentive staff worked seamlessly to ensure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. While the menu's “accompaniments” section was a bit confusing, there was never a moment when we weren’t enjoying something delicious. The dining area was pleasant and quiet, allowing for conversation without interruptions from the waiter, which made for a relaxing end to a long, stressful day. Sure, the trash can in the restroom was somewhat difficult to reach with used paper towels, but that's a minor detail. Overall, it was a delightful experience and offered good value even in today's economy. There's a reason the parking lot is packed every night, and I would highly recommend Lydia’s as a top choice in Butte for any special occasion.
We've been dining at Lydia's for more than 50 years, and the quality of food and service has remained just as excellent as it was on our very first visit. Last night was no different; the steaks were cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were absolutely delicious! It’s definitely worth the trip to Butte.
I had a fantastic experience at 7:00 PM. It's an excellent spot for watching people, and the dinner was both delicious and uncomplicated. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The bar is remarkable, featuring a nice tribute to Anthony Bourdain, although they could improve their Old Fashioned.
This restaurant offers a classic supper club experience that my family has enjoyed for many years. The dinner is quite generous, featuring a salad (the Bleu cheese dressing is my all-time favorite), salami, cheese, sweet potato salad, some vegetables, anchovies (upon request), fries, spaghetti, ravioli, your chosen entrée, and ice cream for dessert. The classic dinner steak is tender and seasoned with a unique blend that I can only describe as Lydia's. In my opinion, it's delicious, and unfortunately for my dog, I never take home leftovers. You can add shrimp for a surf and turf option, but honestly, the fried chicken is also quite good. I’m not sure if they still do it this way, but back in the day, we'd get the fried chicken dinner to go, bringing our own bowl for the spaghetti and ravioli, and pick it up at the back door. When we kids went, they would even give us little sugar wafer cookies while we waited. It's so much better than Safeway chicken!
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The salad was already waiting for us at the table, which was a nice touch. The servers were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our visit. The food was delightful, with the steak cooked to perfection. With your meal, you also receive a plate of spaghetti, fries, and some ravioli, which adds great variety. To top it off, there's a small bowl of ice cream for dessert. The place has a charming retro vibe and an inviting atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the area!
