You can choose from different shrimp dishes and we have tasted almost all: appetizers are really great, I recommend trying all. Pasta with saffron and shrimp ricotta is also very good. The second shrimp in purgatory is super tasty. In the menu there is also trout but we went only for shrimps In short, recommended place for those in the area or for those who want to taste the shrimp of the river. The restaurant is cosy: the interior is not great so it recommends to book even an hour before making sure the place. It is a rustic place surrounded by greenery. The waitress is very kind (and patient) in explaining all the dishes. The price is good: about 30 euros per person including cover. Recommended!

We learned of this little diamond through tripadvisor. A friend of ours led us here because on the weekends, we head out to discover new and delicious spots. This was a very pleasant surprise. Set in the heart of Abruzzo, a five minute drive from the town of Bussi Sul Tirino, they’re specialities are river trout and shrimp. What made this little restaurant stand out is that 3 generations of women are represented in the kitchen. We arrived before other guests and we had the chance to chat with, who I think was the owner. Our food was fresh, delicious and did not break the bank, which was a welcomed surprise considering what we ate. My favourite dish was the asparagus and trout pasta.
We were a little uncertain about turning onto the small road off the highway that leads to Il Salice, since it looks like it leads into the woods, but we were so glad we did. The setting is charming like a country Inn. We arrived at an odd hour about 3:00 looking for lunch. Since our Italian is practically non existent, we had a bit of trouble at first ascertaining if they were still serving. We did glean that she did not have a full menu offering at that hour, but we were hungry and expressed that a limited offering was no problem. There was a group of six finishing a leisurely meal in the dining room, and, fortunately for us, one of them spoke English and helped us with the menu. The others at the table were very enthusiastic in their recommendations and told us we were very smart to have found this place, since it is so authentic and so good. Everything is homemade, from the bread to the pasta to the biscotti. We had a simple, but delicious meal or cold antipasto and ravioli for me and pappardelle for my husband. The ravioli in particular was terrific served with a light seafood sauce. It is a family run business and the service is lovely. We enjoyed caffe and biscotti for dessert, along with a complimentary shot of a truly delectable walnut digestif from the region. Very special experience.
