As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with, Are you Guyanese? After saying yes, the entire experience went downhill. The service was incredibly rude, and the staff were talking about us with another server in Hindi, assuming we didn 't understand. Our order was rushed, and we were given dirty glasses with hot water. When we asked for new ones, it felt like we were asking for a kidney. The food was old and flavorless. We ate there because we used to love the taste and atmosphere, and we had a flight to catch soon after. The food was brought out without silverware, and we had to ask for the naan we ordered. The few other customers present received much better treatment, seemingly because of the color of their skin. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and we won 't be returning.
I just want to preface this by saying this is the second time something like this has happened which is why I'm writing a review. I go every couple months. Placed an order for pickup a half hour out as I knew I was 45 minutes away and I was going to give them a 45-minute cushion to make sure it was done on time. Show up, two tables in the restaurant occupied and my order is not even started. Guy asked to see my online receipt, headed back to the kitchen after telling me to wait for 15 more minutes. So an hour from the time I originally placed the order and a half hour later then it was supposed to be. I had already tipped on the app and I did not receive an apology or anything a normal business would offer. Asked if there was something they could do and they threw me a couple of some sort of cheap dessert doughballs. I was already picking up $65 worth of food for just two people so we could have leftovers. I did not want more food nor did I ask for more food. The short bald man was super rude and probably shouldn't be working with people. I won't be back and I recommend you don't go either, especially if you have a time limit like a work lunch or something.
Got sick from eating here not common for me at all.
While I was ordering, I spoke to the person at the front counter. He started talking to me but then interrupted our conversation when an older couple arrived. He immediately attended to them instead, leaving me waiting. This behavior was both disrespectful and demonstrated poor customer service.
Atmosphere is nice and the area is big enough for large group as well but it stops at that. I don't know if it's a cost saving strategy but the biryani we ordered had a lot of veggies inside it when it was clearly mentioned to be chicken tikka biryani. I mean cauliflowers and potatoes in a biryani was least expected and the whole biryani was soggy. The server messed up our order as well but was rude when we reminded him about it. I hope they seriously reconsider their strategy as this place and it's franchise seems to be growing but the food and the service makes us wonder how.
