Osaka Sushi - Burnaby

I've moved so coming to my favourite Sushi establishment is a big challenge. It does also hold some memories of my past life so it's also hard to be in the restaurant alone. It's still the best Sushi Restaurant by a country mile. Staff here...More

Their tuna tataki is excellent although we generally eat rolls here. I'd have to rate this one in the top five of about 20 sushi restaurants I've been to in Vancouver. Reliably yummy.

Osaka is our local family favourite for Saturday or Sunday lunch. Osaka is a small eat in or take out Sushi Restaurant, we have never had a problem getting seating or being served quickly. Both of our kids love the Kapa Maki and my husband and I love the good quality of their sashimi and sushi rolls. I haven't tried a dish that I did not like at Osaka, they are all very nice. They have Bento Boxes and Specials, so you can eat for a good price. The service is friendly and prompt, and the staff are flexible and helpful when making a special request. We have always had a good experience at Osaka.

Price could be cheaper, got $8 for a roll combo.. 12 pieces. good sushi selection thou. would recommend to anyone for a nice lunch located in a nice area on hastings.. burnaby. very friendly and quick service

Osaka hasn't been open that long. The first couple of times we went, it was average but ok. Unfortunately, seems to be declining. We ordered out from there yesterday. They got our order wrong which was frustrating. The rolls were also still slightly warm and average at best. The Summer Roll says it contains Japanese Pickle but it tastes very fishy. The sunomono salads we ordered were very small and didn't contain much in the way of noodles - mostly vinegar. Will say, the sashimi was very good. Unfortunately, didn't make up for the rest of it. At $60 for the two of us, we won't be going back - just not worth it.
