The poutine hot dog drink combo at NY Fries is a delicious and satisfying option for only $11. The lineups are shorter here compared to other places in the food court like Tim Hortons and Subway. Plus, you have the freedom to customize your hot dog at their self-serve station.
I would choose fries over friends any day. When have fries ever disappointed you? (Except when they're limp and sad looking, just kidding. My friends are great too.) It's been ages since I've had NY fries. These were a favorite of mine growing up. The large or extra-large size is the way to go! These fries are fresh, thick, and full of potato flavor. In my opinion, they are one of the best things you can get in the food court. I love that they leave the skins on. These fries are so flavorful, you don't even need ketchup!
New York Fries is a reliable choice for poutine if you happen to be in a mall food court. They can be found in almost every mall food court in the Lower Mainland. Interestingly, there is no New York Fries in New York. The poutine here is simple comfort food, not gourmet, but it satisfies a craving. I give it 3 out of 5 stars. The portion size is small but sufficient. I'm not a big fan of their fries as they tend to be soggy, even without gravy. However, I do appreciate that they leave the potato skins on, resulting in crispy and charred edges. The gravy is thin and salty, and the cheese curds are standard, chewy, and moist. Overall, it's not bad, but I personally prefer Costco poutine over this option.
Nice fries, nice hotdogs, nice poutines. The buns, however, cannot hold the winnies. Overall it is a good experience!
