We were never offered any drinks although we did get ice water from the very young hostess. The menu was varied and looked like we could all find something yummy. Wrong! All 3 of our meals were severely over salted. I had orange chicken breast that had no orange favour at all. One of my sons had gnocchi which were lovely. The sauce was tomato but again it was like eating at a salt lick. My other son's meal was meat tortellini & they were good but again mega salt factor. We will not return, nor recommend this place.
Our party of 4 headed back to Burnaby after a play at the Arts Club. We were all ravenous and more than ready to eat. Appies were shared caesar salads and jumbo prawns. Delish. 2 had pastas (generous portions) and 2 had scallopini. Enjoyed by all. Great service, reasonable prices. Highly recommend for an italian dinner out.
This place was empty when we got there, and also empty when we left,we stayed and thought it was just a poor day for business,we were greeted at the door and sat at a table by an elderly man,we assumed was the waiter, but later determined it was the owner, anyways he took our order and my friend had some questions which he answered for her but not until making some comments that offended my friend, she is quite petite and when she asked how large the soup was his response was well its bigger than you are, that was not the end of it either, our dinner arrived and it looked pretty good,I had the gnocchi, and she had the minestroni soup and spaghetti, the soup was nothing like minestroni is supposed to be it had totally different ingredients in it than most restaurants you get that soup from, anyways she finished it and the waiter came back to pickup the plates, and again he made some rude comment regarding weight proportions to my friend, she was getting a little disgusted and was about ready to snap,as we were eating our main meal,he stood very close to us and continued to stare at us eating our food, which made both of us very uncomfortable, this owner.waiter needs to read some of his reviews and needs to brush up on his restaurant etiquette, maybe this is the reason his restaurant was empty, the food was mediocre and the service was ok,but he does need to keep his comments to himself, and to let people dine in private not hovering over them.
I have been coming to Marios for years and they have consistently provided wonderful food and always treated me like family. The Chicken Diavola and Chicken Martini are so so tender and the sauces are tasty and delicious! If you enjoy lemon .. try the Divaola and if want a more orange flavor.. the Chicken Martini is your dish .The Caprese salad is simple and perfect in flavor. At Marios everything on the plate makes sense. it's fresh.. its authentic. it real..and its made by a family that truly cares about what they serve you.
I went there with my family there one evening for dinner. I took spaghetti alle vongole....at least I wished I could have them, but instead I received a big plate of spaghetti in vongole soup...no way.
