If you enjoy lemon .. try the Divaola and if want a more orange flavor.. the Chicken Martini is your dish .<br/ <br/ The Caprese salad is simple and perfect in flavor. At Marios everything on the plate makes sense. it's fresh.. its authentic. it real..and its made by a family that truly cares about what they serve you.
Yummy. Went here for dinner tonight with my boyfriend. I bought a groupon, as my grandmother recommended this restaurant. We had the Caprese salad, minestrone soup and then the lemon veal and a prosciutto and mozzarella veal (not breaded). We thought everything was absolutely delicious. Yes the decor is old, and the food very simple, but we like those kind of places. We liked it so much that Im kinda surprised that this place has all these negative reviews. We will definitely be going back.
Pros: - Fresh and tasty food - Friendly service - Good portion vs. price ratio Cons: - Older, non-fancy decor - Gets warm inside during nice weather Review: I likely wouldn't have visited this restaurant if not for a Groupon deal, and even then, probably wouldn't have gone without a friend's recommendation. Online reviews are divisive! The location was convenient with parking in the back, and the decor was rustic and casual, catering more to a family and local crowd. Arriving at 6:15pm, the restaurant already had some occupied tables, which was a positive sign. The menu was simple and traditional, with both of us opting for pasta dishes. The bread that came with our meal was store-bought and not warm, but it was fresh and complimentary. Our food took around 20 minutes to arrive, with basic presentation on old plates. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, with flavorful sauces. My calamari dish was not what I expected, but still delicious with a spicy sauce. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for a nearby meal, but it's not a must-visit destination.
Best Italian Food In Burnaby. This is mine my wife's favorite Italian Restaurant in Burnaby. We've been going for years have never had a problem. What keeps us going back? It's a small hidden place that is cozy, the food is great the price is reasonable. It's a perfect little place to take a date. The waiters are friendly but also funny. My favorites meals here are the Rigatoni Calabrese, Pollo Diavola (Devil's Chicken) the Vitello con funghi (Veal with Mushrooms) For an appy try the mussels clams in sauce. When you are finished that bread is going to come in handy to dip into that delicious sauce left over. My all time favorite dessert that I've ever had is also here. Gelato Fritto (Deep fried ice cream) It's a small block of ice cream rolled in almonds quickly fried. The Almond crust with ice cream center is a must try.. I will continue eating there with my wife for quiet romantic dinners! I always recommend this place to friends they are always happy afterwords that I did.
The reason we keep coming back to Da Mario is because of the delicious flavors. My wife and I have enjoyed many memorable dinners at this restaurant over the past 4 years, always expecting the best gnocchi and cannelloni in town, and we have never been disappointed. Da Mario is a hidden gem in the Greater Vancouver area, offering great value for a high-quality meal. While the appearance may be understated, the experience is sure to delight your taste buds. This cozy and authentic restaurant, run by personable staff, may not have all the bells and whistles of a high-end Italian establishment, but the owners - who are also the cooks - have managed to consistently create superb dishes. The tiramisu may not be the best in town, but it is very good, the caprese salad is excellent, and the lasagne is top-notch. We highly recommend Da Mario - just writing this review makes me hungry!
