Despite it being peak dinner time, the restaurant was empty with only a few people doing takeout orders. The service was very poor, with one waitress even asking a member of our group to hurry up and finish their meal so she could take their plate. The food did not taste quite right. The calamari had too much batter and the rings were too big to eat comfortably, as the membrane was left on and made it difficult to bite into. The vegetables in our biryani were overcooked and mushy, as was the rice. Overall, we were very disappointed and will not be returning to this restaurant.
The curries and rice dishes at this restaurant are gluten-free. I have ordered takeout from here numerous times and have never encountered any problems.
We have visited this restaurant multiple times and have always enjoyed it. However, during a recent visit with out-of-town guests, we were disappointed with the new chef's preparation of our appetizers. When I asked our young waitress if there was a new chef, she replied that there was not. The entrees arrived, and my spouse's mild dish was unexpectedly spicy, causing discomfort. Our guests did not enjoy their meals and left them uneaten. I was quite embarrassed by the experience and would recommend bringing back the original cook.
This restaurant is a hidden treasure of Indian cuisine! If you stick to the classic dishes like butter chicken, dal makhani, shahi paneer, and malai kofta, you will be thrilled! The food is amazing and it is my son's favorite restaurant in Canada.
