The cashier forgot to include half of my meal in the pickup. I called back and the cashier offered to refund me the whole meal. I did not suggest or expect this and thought it was really nice. Upon returning the cashier was very rude. She said that she would only refund me the part I left behind not the whole meal. I asked why she offered the whole meal on the phone and she said she changed her mind after speaking with me about refunding me. I felt this was very bad customer service to offer someone one thing and openly admit that they decided to change the refund after. I don't know if she spoke with her boss and they said no or if she maybe she was the boss and was just having a tough day. Overall the food I received was good but be warned if you disagree with the staff at all, or you want to make any suggestions the employee made it clear today their customers voices are falling on deaf ears and they don't care what their customers think. The cashier at one point specifically said, "This is a family owned business and if you think we care about your business or opinion.... we don't." Doesn't get much clearer than that .
Argo is a small, family owned and operated Greek Restaurant off of Canada Way. The first time I went there the owner took me in the back to show me the kitchen. It's spotless! I've never seen a cleaner kitchen. The food is amazing and it's made with love. The lunch portions are perfect... I always get the Chicken Slovakia but there's lots to choose from. Two things you must try: the fried calamari and the chicken soup. You will not be disappointed! I eat at Argo at least 3 times a week. Friendly people and they love what they do.
There used to be an average Greek place across the street. There are many average Greek places up at Kingsway and Hastings. For above average Greek we used to go battle the mall food court. No longer. Argo has trumped them all.Not even in Greece have I had souvlaki this well seasoned and finely grilled. The salads are very fresh, and the potatoes... how do you make potatoes taste this good?!?But it's the moussaka that keeps bringing me back. Soft eggplant, just enough moisture and meat inside, and not too sweet or sour. Perfection.I'll end by saying that should I ever actually finish an entire entrée in the restaurant, I will be passed out in the corner - the portions are generous! New #1 spot in East Van/Burnaby. If you're looking for a spot before you hit the highway or just off it, this is it.
This is a small pizza joint hidden away in a small strip mall on Canada Way & Smith Ave in Burnaby which I never realized it existed until someone pointed it out to me. Looks like it like it's run by a Greek couple who have been in the business for a very long time (about 30 yrs, according to the waitress). There is not a whole lot of seating in the place, but they make the pizza like they used to make in the old days. They'll even coach you how to order properly. In other words, they will tell you which ingredients go together to cook the pizza to perfection! Cheese is also great, and crust is so good that you feel like eating it alone without any ingredients... :)We've done take out several times and eat in, and it's an amazing place. The prices are also very reasonable.I would definitely recommend it!
