Agra sweets is very close to baba sweets, which seems to get more customers likely due to a better service than agra sweets. the food served is good and somewhat cheaper than baba, but the selection is less and less portioning smaller overall it is still... worth and worth a visit.
We love coming to this restaurant for the hot and fresh food. Our favorite dishes are the veggie samosas, aloo gobi, and lentil curry. The restaurant is very clean and located at 7585 6th Street, Burnaby, BC W3N 3M4.
When our food arrived, including butter chicken, biryani, and 2 Choley-Bhatures, we were pleasantly surprised. The bhaturas were light and fluffy, with a subtle taste that was not overpowering. The choley was perfectly cooked and the butter chicken was rich and tender, melting in our mouths. The rice was also cooked to perfection. Despite our initial skepticism, we left the restaurant feeling satisfied with the food. However, we believe that the restaurant could benefit from focusing more on their service and updating their facilities. The lack of cleanliness and outdated furniture gave the impression that the restaurant had not been renovated in years. Some simple updates, such as new tables and chairs, as well as better overall maintenance, could greatly improve the dining experience for customers.
Ordered the butter chicken for $11. It effectively tasted like a $0.60 bowl of Campbell's canned tomato soup, with the equivalent of the amount of chicken on a single drumstick. Basically, a bowl of crappy soup with a few random pieces of chicken in it....The owner smiled and did not care when I mentioned it and in fact pointed to another customer, saying they ordered it too and were not complaining. No attempt whatsoever to remedy the problem . Their paapdi chaat appetizer was even worse looked like someone had watered down the yoghurt so the whole thing was tasteless and cheap tasting. All in all, the people running this place have 0 sense of customer service and terrible cooks. I expect this restaurant will die off soon, as it deserves to. Btw, being that I am Indian, I can tell you with 100% conviction that this is terrible Indian food try Baba sweets just a block up the street WAY WAY WAY better. I wanted to try this place just because it was new to give it a chance. Big mistake.
