I usually order the Smoky Mountain burger—it's a classic bacon burger topped with cheese and BBQ sauce. My wife enjoys the Three Ring Burger (I think that's the name), which features three onion rings. I always upgrade my side to onion rings because they are fantastic with the Beach House sauce, while my wife opts for fried pickles, which are surprisingly tasty—even though I'm not a fan of pickles. She simply can't visit without getting her Odyssey milkshake, and I have to give her credit; it's a thick, rich, and delicious treat. The atmosphere is quite cool, and the service is quick. It tends to get busy, so we've encountered a 45-minute wait during peak dinner times—but it's definitely worth it. The garage doors open on nice days, making it great to sit by the windows. As for prices, they are on the higher side. For two meals, side upgrades, one drink, and a milkshake, you're looking at around $55, including a decent tip. If we were more budget-conscious, we could probably eat here for about $30, tip included. The only disappointing experiences I've had were during a Bacon event. I tried the bacon-wrapped chicken breast that was battered and fried, topped with bacon and Beach House sauce. It had the potential to be amazing, but it was overcooked, leaving it burnt and dry. It still tasted decent with the sauce, but I probably should have returned it. I also had a burger with mushrooms, and the mushrooms were quite overpowering; however, you can't go wrong with a classic bacon cheeseburger. Overall, the burgers taste great, the sides are awesome, and I look forward to returning as a regular. All in all, it's an excellent burger joint—second only to Cool Cat's Cafe in Maui, Hawaii, in my opinion. However, I've heard there are several places in Toronto that might be even better, so I can't wait to test them out when I get the chance!
We arrived around dinnertime and managed to get a table right away. Unfortunately, the food we received was overly salty and loaded with far too much cheese. We couldn't finish our meals because of it. To make matters worse, their computers were down, and we were stuck waiting for about 20 minutes until they could fix the issue so we could pay. We won’t be returning, especially after seeing the final bill. I understand it's a burger joint, but perhaps consider not having three-quarters of the menu overloaded with bacon and/or cheese— not everyone enjoys that. A little less salt in the food would also be appreciated.
The portion of fries was generous, but they were unfortunately a bit dry. For two of the burgers, we ordered steamed broccoli as a side, but it could have used a bit more cooking, as it wasn't fully steamed. The server was friendly, but only checked on us once after the first few bites and again at the end of our meal. We weren't offered any refills or anything else during our visit. The atmosphere was cozy and charming, although the booth felt a bit cramped for four people. Overall, I don’t think we would return, especially since the service and food quality didn’t meet expectations given that the restaurant was almost empty. I can’t imagine how it would be on a busy day. Our total bill was around $100 for four people, which isn’t too bad, but the food quality was similar to fast food burgers. On a positive note, I appreciated the vegan options; that was a nice touch!
A lovely change of pace! The burgers are excellent and well-prepared, though a bit pricey, but definitely worth the occasional trip. There are so many dishes to try that it's best to take your time. I've had good experiences with the specials as well.
