The Keg Steakhouse Burlington

The keg is a chain, but in contrast to most chains eating is really good. the place is a bit loud, but the service is excellent.

I took my friend to eat. the waitress was very friendly and wonderful. we both had steaks. I asked for a little bit of fun instead of a potato. all I got was a mixture of yellow, red and orange paprika. two of the thinnest spade. I expected. sweet like carrots, brokkoli, flower cabbage or I would have taken kartoffel. in the past, they brought small pieces of cake to the birthday, but this time not. probably my last visit in a keg.

Tonight for dinner service was mediocre and eating was ok nothing to write home about! he was there at 18 o'clock and ordered immediately dinner didn't come out until 7:05 pm and asked for an additional better came out after my meal was done. looks like they're after the lockdown so I'll give them a break. even if I make a reservation, I don't want to sit in the bar!

It was our first time dining ‘in’ since Covid lockdowns. Our daughter from Florida was here for 3 days celebrating a birthday and the ability to share real hugs. Despite her Floridian environment, she was very anxious for us when we insisted on a family...birthday dinner. It was safety first in this restaurant our vaccinations and ID’s checked, the table wiped as we sat down (it looked like a clean cloth and antiseptic bottle), a booth enclosed with no tables opposite and only waiters moving past. She was as impressed as we were. The meal was the usual blend of choices, well served, and hot. We were not rushed nor checked constantly for needs but served when appropriate. The music in the background was low enough to carry on a conversation. During this Covid time, we have twice bought the “Celebration Kit’ and been very pleased with it. The Keg Burlington has helped us to venture into the real world once more. As we left, we walked past the patio it also looks like a welcome alternative to dining in house.

Ordered the Sirloin Oscar medium well. Shrimp were tiny little shrivelled things and stone cold the scallops were luke warm or cool steak was done medium instead of medium well and not a great cut. Note this dish should have never left the...kitchen and I am not the type to complain when the Manager shows up 20 mins or more from when your meal arrived to ask how everything is tasting. The server was inattentive in the sense that he did not pay any mind to ensuring we had salt and pepper on the table nor did he bring any steak sauces or ask at any point (is this a pandemic precaution? nor did he ask if the members in our party without cell phones needed a paper menu. In reality for me though I don't dwell on the service as much as the food worst meal I have ever had at the Keg and the others in my party were not thrilled with their meals either.
