That Pie Place - Burlington

I went to the pie place for the first time tonight. the owner, jamie, took the time to chat with me for likely 15-20 minutes. very nice guy! I bought 5 hearty cakes, and he threw one free. tonight I baked the steak and cheesecake. follow the directions to make an egg wash up, bake and let it sit for 15 minutes before eating. the first bite I took, I literally said “Oh my God!” this is literally the best cake I have ever tasted in my life! Many thanks for the chat, jamie! I look forward to trying the other cakes I bought! will definitely go back to see them and get them more cake!

They made me a strawberry rhob cake and it was amazing. the crust was so good that it melts in the mouth. I loved the fruit combination I chose and will buy it again. many thanks to the owners, they were super friendly.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I was impressed by their wide variety of pastries. I purchased a frozen bun, mushroom pancake which I baked at home and it turned out to be delicious. I couldn't leave without trying their buttercake as well, so I also picked up a pecan one. The pecans were my favorite part with the amazing crust and filling. I will definitely be returning to try more of their offerings!

Perhaps we just got a bad apple cake, because what we received was incredibly dry inside and out. The texture was off and it seemed like it had been sitting out for too long. The taste was also disappointing, with a strange swirling flavor that didn't sit well with us. Even our children didn't want to finish it after trying a bite. The filling was bland and overall it was a waste of money. We would have been better off going to a bakery like Such Ty or Longo, where they make their own cakes for half the price. To top it off, the service was not friendly either. It seemed like the woman serving us was having a rough day, but her unfriendliness didn't make for a pleasant dining experience.

The butter tarts at this restaurant are top-notch and the best in Burlington. They are not for the faint of heart.
