You can order your food with different levels of spicy from minimal to extreme. the Chicken was delicious and the sauce was awesome. However our sides were a bit disappointing. My friend recommended the fries,as in her previous visit they were delicious, but ours were stale or cold or possibly both. The sweet potatoes were tasty but a bit hard probably slightly undercooked. We were hungry and so hate them all up but if we weren't so starving would probably asked for a redo. Service was good and the decor is nice.
I first experienced Nando's in the UK - the chicken was tender and delicious and I loved the different array of spices. I think they tried to bring the same concept across here in Canada but our dinner left me a bit disappointed. The chicken was flavorful but dry and the sides were really small. Meaning, a side of vegetables consisted of about 6 pieces and a side of fries was about one small handful. Having said that, the staff were helpful and polite - the restaurant was clean and it is likely that we would give it another try with the kids as an alternate to Swiss Chalet.
It is always busy at the dinner hour, so go early to get a good table. I really like the décor, amazing grilled chicken and potato wedges.
We went for the first time - and YES the chicken was delicious, fresh, juicy and very flavourful. The sides we lack lustre and standing in line to place your order was just not what we were into. The environment and type of self serve service is the reason I would not be returning.....we've had much better dinner at Swiss chalet!
Had dinner there with my two children and mother (who is vegetarian). Options are very limited for a vegetarian, but we figured as much knowing it was all about their 'chicken'. My mother ordered the Portuguese Medly, which came to the table without dressing as they forgot it, so was basically chunks of peppers and tomatoes with feta (isn't that a Greek salad?). The chunks were way too big and they should consider cutting them smaller. Not worth it. My children both had the chicken strips with fries, nothing to rave about. The chicken strips are not breaded, which we didn't realize...I guess that's not an option. Regardless, it was only okay. I had the two chicken skewers and peri-peri veggies. Chicken was dry despite being loaded up with sauce, the peri-peri veggies were big chunks again and very greasy. The peppers tasted raw and very crunchy, if you like it like that.Service: the service was okay, staff could have a happier disposition and more welcoming attitude. We were told when we got there to go up to the counter and order and they would serve the food to us when ready. Food came and we sat there with no utensils, etc. We were not told we had to get our own and bring it to the table when we ordered. We asked a waitress walking by who clued us in to that. It just seemed so odd seeing a group of servers standing around doing nothing, waiting for food to come out. What a waste. And poor servers as they probably don't get very many tips with this style of service.Portions: VERY SMALL, not worth what they charge.Disappointing all around, won't be returning.
