Centro Neighborhood Kitchen - Burien

El Centro has become our favorite restaurant. We love that they clearly mark which menu items are vegan or vegetarian. The servers are knowledgeable and you don't have to ask for substitutions, just let them know you want the vegan version. We can't understand why one reviewer didn't like the nachos because we (2 adults, 2 teens) find them to be fantastic. The vegan cheese, sauce, and seasoning on the cauliflower make them delicious and they are a generous portion. We also enjoy their bowls, even though I usually don't like sweet potato in savory dishes, they get the ratio just right. They have limited outdoor seating with options for 2-person and 4-person tables, and can text you when your table is ready.

The restaurant has good food and friendly staff, but the portions are small and the prices are high. Despite this, we would go back because everyone had a great time. Be sure to try the delicious green beans.

I was disappointed to find that the nachos at this restaurant were topped with Daiya cheese instead of homemade cashew cheese, especially considering the $17 price tag. The chips themselves were tasty, but overall I felt like I could have easily made a similar dish at home. The enchiladas we tried were decent, but not memorable enough for me to order them again. The vegan options mostly consisted of dishes where the only modification was removing cheese and adding cauliflower, with limited variety beyond that. I was surprised that this place had received praise for their vegan offerings, as I found the options lacking in creativity and diversity.

The green beans are SO good! Also the cauliflower taco was really excellent! Clearly marked vegan options.
