Restaurante Castelejo - Burgau

We were looking forward to lunch at the beach restaurant only to discover it is cash only. What a shame businesses that are struggling post Covid and with the cost of living issues can't see that we are becoming a cashless society.

What a surprise. I see that the property has been described as a beach cafe. It is in the part that is next to the beach and actually supplies water and drinks to the beachcombers/surfers from its main entrance. But it also has a restaurant which serves dishes of excellent quality. Fish, fresh from the sea (daily catch)! I had a golden sea bream. The flavour was exquisite. My fellow diners partook of a fish cataplana which they each thoroughly enjoyed. The service under the direction of Adriana, was so professional, and yet fun. A really special dining experience of which I hope to partake on a future visit.

Lovely location, a welcome stop after a long beach walk and what a beautiful beach, absolutely stunning. We had a tuna salad and chips, one of the best we have had, very generous portions. It’s cash only.

Bom peixe fresco! Bons lingueirões! Bom restaurante para almoçar com uma belíssima praia como imagem de fundo. Empregados simpáticos. Preços razoáveis! Aqui só se pode falar! ...não há rede móvel nem Wi-Fi!

It looks more a military institution then a restaurant. You have to wait in front of a chain before they let you in and you are not alloud to chose your seat. They tell you where to sit. What an horrible place! Never again.
