Hayes Seafood House - Buffalo

This is a fantastic spot for New England-style seafood! My wife, who was feeling under the weather, and I ordered the fried seafood platter, and it was excellent! All the seafood was fresh, and you could really taste the quality.

I just picked up dinner from this place, and I must say, they have the best fish! It's not the cheapest option around, but it's definitely worth the price. The fried squid and Maryland crab cake dinner were absolutely delicious. They also offer other types of fish, such as trout, yellow pike, and shrimp, all of which are fresh and cooked to perfection!

Since the owner's retirement, it seems the restaurant has been struggling to maintain the high standards established in previous years. This new team of operators is inconsistent, particularly when you consider the prices they're charging for dinner. They are offering premium prices for average food, which is disappointing. There's really nothing special about the experience. It's a shame that the competition in this area is lacking.

We haven't been in a while. Very disappointed with our dinner. Baked red potatoes were 80% uncooked. Mais on the Cob tasted pampered. My salmon was dry and boiled. The halibut of my wife was similar. Our experience was shocking. The staff seemed unthinkable with everything. We enjoyed many dinners over the years at Hayes. It will be difficult for us to return after our most recent terrible meal.

I would give Hayes a very good rating. My fried haddock and fries were served hot ... cole slaw was excellent. My sister had fried scallops which she really enjoyed. Thank you Hayes Seafood !!
