Rodi Bar - Buenos Aires

Rodi bar offers a wide range of well prepared homey recipes. The pastas and sauces are delicious and so are the stews. The price is right. Go early or late because by 9:00PM, it is impossible to get a table.

The red wine of the house was delicious. I ordered (half) a steak with french fries. Half was quite big, quite enough for me. The steak was really good, the french fries were partly quite mushy/wet. Tiramisu was fine, not perfect. Good service.

In the heart of Recoleta, this cafe is a nice spot with an extensive menu of local and international dishes, with good prices. The staff are a bit brusque and they do seem to want to get you in and out as fast as they can, but it's still a nice atmosphere and a good place to get a hearty meal for a good price.

All the positive about this restaurant as written by others are true. That's why we visited three times on two recent visits to BA. However, on the last occasion, there was an inability to process my credit card. It had worked well before this occasion and did so within an hour of seemingly 'failing' (four times) at the restaurant. We had just enough cash, a mix of Pesos and US dollars, to settle the bill. It was not even counted. Sure enough, a couple of days later, the card was debited. I advised my bank who offered a refund but declined to pursue such a small amount (approx 700 pesos). The only contact for the restaurant is by phone so it is almost impossible for me, as a non-Spanish speaker, to complain direct. So hence this missive, especially as i understand this is a well known scam in South America. To be fair, we had never encountered the problem during six weeks of travel, including the first two visits to Rodi where we paid with a Debi Card.

Great restaurant and as the other reviews say full of locals. Would go back. Huge portions and great prices.
