Like every restaurante in Buenos Aires, they charge the cobierto which literally means silverware. I figure this is like...the restaurant mafia in BA, everybody charges it, no way around it. The food was good but some dishes the portion was small. The place has a modern decor but it feels cozy. It does get dark with the black seating. If it wasn't the the cobierto my rating would have been Very Good I would try another place before going there again.
Very nice restaurante, the food is japanese peruvian fusion. Take recommendations from the waitress to share plates.
Seems to be a trendy neighborhood and restaurant in Buenos Aires, and the restaurant deserves to be! It is just excellent. The setting is nice and the service is excellent. Since it was our first time there, we asked our waiter to choose of us....Facundo did a great selection, with the right quantity and helping us to enjoy a delicious meal.
Since I live in Buenos Aires I may write this review not as a tourist but as a resident. Paru is one of my favorites restaurants in the city. Food, drinks and ambience have an extraordinary level and it’s Peruvian plus Japanese fusión proposal...offers delicious ceviches and tiraditos, very tasty main courses like the picante de mariscos of the green rice and the deserts semifeddo de dulce de leche and the suspiro volcánico are impossible to be missed.
We went for dinner at this trendy new place and enjoyed ourselves. The venue is quite sleek, with lots of in fashion touches including a unisex sink area in the restrooms. As others have noted it is quite noisy, it could probably be dampened (acoustic...foam under table etc) but maybe the owner’s idea is that the buzz helps make the place seem alive and desirable. The food was quite good, a hybrid between a sushi joint and a Peruvian restaurant. If you are looking for best of breed sushi in BA this is probably not the place, the choice of fish is limited and they don’t even offer tuna (unfortunately a very common omission in BA But what they do offer is tasty and well made, including some shrimp nigiri that I had sporting some succulent ebi pieces. (One thing to note is that the wasabi they serve is powerful stuff, use sparingly. Also, if you like classic sushi avoid the Philly cheese, deep fried stuff and other common epidemics of BA sushi) We were quite impressed with the non-sushi dishes we had, a white fish classic ceviche, a seared salmon (great fish beautifully prepared) and a vegetarian cilantro risotto they made to order. For drinks we had classic caipiroskas, they were masterfully mixed. For dessert we had a chocolate brownie with white chocolate ice cream, it was easy both on the palate and the eyes. The service was very competent, lots of energetic staff buzzing about the place so there is always somebody to tap when in need. A boss named Pablo roams the place and keeps it humming like a Swiss train station. All that restaurant goodness comes at a steep (for BA at least) price. We paid just over u$s for people with a moderate amount of fish and cocktails. But the place was packed on this Friday night so they must be setting the prices right.
