El Gaucho - Buenos Aires

Real fraud! We were approach in front with a folder promising Chorizo ​​steak 300 Grms for 159 pesos and when we entered and saw the menu the value was the double .We asked about the promotion to the waitress and he Didn't say anything. Service is a disgrace The table had no salt or oil .After asking they brought us for 2 minutes but then took away terrible rice tasteless, potato totally soaked with oil and the meat came bleeding when I ordered well done,what a disaster.Dirty table restaurant does not have ventilation terrible service. The credit card machine does not work well too I do not recommend in any way.

Had been to El Gaucho a couple of times four years ago when the food was good, but not memorable, maybe because we went for the "flyer" offer.Well.....Thursday the 10th March this year is the day that I had the most memorable Sirloin steak in 50 plus years of living on this planet.......what can I say,.absolutely gorgeous, almost melted in my mouth, superb!Please don't walk by, give it a try!

We needed to be in the area and happened to be a long time without a meal. This place was obviously a tourist trap, but the food on people plates looked pretty good. Hunger ruled and we decided to go in. I have to say the the atmosphere was OK, the service was very good, the mixed meat was pretty chewy but the crepes with spinach and chicken were great. The price was reasonable. All in all it was much better than we expected.

Wide variety on the menu.Generous portions.Cooked exactly as ordered, even in my broken Castellano.Bife de lomo con ajo y piementa negra . . . esta muy bueno.The chimichurri was excellent.Service okay, if a bit uneven.Side dishes not so good.Can be noisy up front.Feels touristic.Needs some better alternate animal proteins; the salmon was poor.

The steak was good, but they don't care about their customers : screwing them is not an issue... They will give you a very nice discount to get you in, but when it comes to get the bill you will discover that the discount concerns only a small fraction of the total bill. You will end up paying much more than what you expect. I guess they don't care about disappointing the customer, as there will be other people coming here.Don't go there, there is a lot of great - and honest - steak houses in Buenos Aires.
