Unfortunately I ordered the steak el don (bife el don) and did not like the cut of the meat. The meat was too dry, with no fat and low flavor. I am sure they have very good meat if you order bife de chorizo or asado. Just do not order the house steak...
An excellent romantic restaurant, very good value for the money. We took the bife the lomo and it was perfect. Also we took the provolota (cheese a la parilla) and loved it. Closed on Sunday. Highly recommended!
You have the choice between several meat cuts and variety, but the best seems to me the T-Bone steak! Exquisite! Together with a good choice of wine and the friendly service, we had a very good dinner. As actually Argentine suffers from an economic decline, you can see a lower level of people dining out, which often astonishes the tourists, but hopefully this phase will end soon!
First, I'll give you the good: the steak (tira de asado, or short ribs) I ultimately ate was excellent. It was well-seasoned and expertly cooked. And they started the meal off with a delicious, warm, crusty bread. Why, then, am I giving them only three stars? They tried to pull a fast one. When they brought me my steak, it was one huge piece of fat, and terribly undercooked at that (I had ordered it medium well). It was so disgusting that the fat was white and bubbly, as if it had only barely touched the grill. I was incredulous, and only when I sent it back and basically said "Really?" to the waiter, they went back and got me a reasonable steak. I don't know if they try to scam tourists who they think might not know better with the crappy cuts of meat that they'd otherwise throw out or what, but for a restaurant that aspires to be a quality destination in Palermo Hollywood, that was a very questionable thing for them to do. Will I return? Probably not, as there are better choices in Buenos Aires, but it's a shame because the place has potential.
Last night of 3 weeks in South America and i wanted one more carnivore night and this was close to our hotel and read well on TA.I actually thought it was closed on a Monday, so we were actually headed elsewhere, but walked by and noticed it was open. We were early, @8.30 and the place was real quiet, so the service was 100%. We ordered a T bone and a rib eye, with blood + spicy sausage starters. The sausage was all very good and i am glad i did not order more, as when the T bone arrived it was huge. There is a photo on here of a silver tray with a T bone on it and they really are that size. I reckon probably 18-20oz. I ordered med/rare and from the first cut, i knew it was just right and it ate perfectly from start to finish. The wifes rib eye was slightly overcooked, from the med/rare she ordered, but still ate fine. The taste of the meat was as good as anything i can remember ever having and was really enjoyed. We also ordered the grilled mixed veg and that has all sorts of goodies inside, from potatoes, peppers, squash, onions etc and was also devoured.Cold beer and a huge wine selection and we rolled out of there most happy - very good.
