Cafe Ditali - Buenos Aires

Excelent place very nice price , very clean place and the quickly there is a lot a places open and was very close from my hotel

Our flight got in very late and Cafe Ditali was directly across the street from our hotel The Pulitzer. All the male waiters stood around by the front counter and wood-fired pizza oven surveying their clienteles needs. One of them quickly approached our table after we sat down. We asked for and got their 1 English menu. They had Chopp Brahma on draft, which turned out to be my favorite beer while in South America. When we inquired using broken Spanish & sign language if two of us should split a large or small pizza; our waiter was able to relay in broken English "Grande - Man's pizza, Chico - Women's pizza". Since we were 2 females, we ordered a chico Pizza Margarita. It came with the usual ingredients of tomato sauce,cheese and fresh basil but also black olives? And turned out to be very tasty and big enough we almost couldn't finish it. While Ditali's was not very busy for late dinner, we noticed it was always jam-packed for lunch.

Knowing basically no Spanish, the waiter took the time to 'try' to be sure my order was as I wanted!!! I was treated very kindly. My small pizza was quite good, beer is beer. I was only in this area 3 nights so I only ate here once, but, I would definitely eat here again if I were in this area because I felt they appreciated my business and did their best despite the language barrier.

Clearly a spot for locals, this was a good place for a quick lunch. We had two tasty scone-based pizzas with a couple of drinks. Service was friendly, prices average for this part of the city.

It's OK for the area -- and open on Sunday! Service is so so -- and if you expect an American-style bun with your hamburgeresa, are you in for a surprise.
