They will not find this restaurant on the road to foot and it will hardly find it if they know its address: it is on a first stage (2 tannenamericans) to a staircase that goes a pole dance studio. the decor is simple, border. poor, and clear this place has seen better days. while the location would help us what it is, a coat of fresh color and some cleaning would help a lot: I would bet the hanging cover plates were not cleaned in years, if at all. now, if they survive the decoration, the sushi is quite good, and proves the best I had in ba (not the world capital of sushi, they think of the tempoura garnel roll and the shitake roll were very good. service is regular. not the place to bring their important others for a romantic dinner, but if they want good sushi in belgrano, it fits to the bill. apropos, not very expensive.
Based on the generally good feedback we read in tripadvisor, my family and I decided to try bistro tokio. In summary: very expensive for a bad sushi. as many others comment, the employment is not great, something that is important to us, but it is...not decisive. it could be significantly improved with small investments. As for sushi, it's not good. there are many other better alternatives to lower or equivalent trips and much better quality. the service is correct.
I go there often, quality is always at best! I recommend all their salmon dishes and the shrimp sauté rice. They have good wines too and the chefs are truly Japanese, I highly recommend this if you are in the mood. Won't be disappointed!
In a country not known for their seafood, where chicken is considered vegetarian, and even the cakes include a variety of beef, finding a sushi restaurant can be a challenge. This place stands out for what it is, and just as importantly what is doesn't...pretend to be. Argentina doesn't have blue fin tuna widely available, so at other places when you order spicy tuna rolls you get Chicken-of-the-Sea, out-of-the-can wrapped in rice. Very disconcerting the first time you experience it. Bistro knows that if you can't do it right, don't do it, and that is important. They don't have miso soup, steamed edamame, nor seaweed salad. This allows you to focus on the things they do well, such as a narrow, creative, menu of salmon and vegetable based maki and niguiri rolls. If this works for you, give this place a try. The price is also fair.
