647 Dinner Club - Buenos Aires

A very trendy Asian fusion restaurant with many fun restaurants and bar areas, including bed-style sun loungers. Very comfortable, delicious food and drink! It's called 647, the address is Tacuari 647. Good for a late night out if you want to feel like a celebrity without paying London-style celebrity prices.

We booked this restaurant for New Year´s Eve and we were told that it was $200 US per person but included all your drinks, food and entertainment. After a lot of agonising we booked it because we didn´t want to be stranded on New Year´s Eve. When we arrived at 8.30pm there was no one there but it filled out a little but in the next hour and a half. However, it was far from full and the atmosphere most definitely lacking. The food was good but not the best (we both asked for our steak medium, one was overcooked and the other medium rare) and it turned out that the only drinks included were soft drinks, beer and wine and not a selection of wine just one variety. The entertainment were 3 tango dances which was very good but nothing really happened as the music was very tame all night and everything seemed to fizzle out about 12.30pm.

My wife and I just spent 6 days in Buenos Aires and decided to make reservations at 647 Dinner Club. I had read some Tripadvisor reviews and saw some other glowing reviews so we thought we would give it a shot. Things were not off to a terrific start when we were walking down a VERY questionable street in San Telmo and couldn 't find the restaurant. The entrance is very recessed and after a couple passes we found the address. And boy are we glad we did. It was an amazing night but not without a few raised eyebrows. Let 's start with those first... There was no one in the club when we got there. I mean no one. And it stayed that way for the first hour we were there. We had reservations for 830pm and quickly realized that no one even thinks about eating out in Buenos Aires at that time. We spent an hour at the bar and my wife and I each had two of the most amazing mixed cocktails we 've ever had. Time well spent. By the time we were seated for dinner, two other couples had arrived. The food was absolutely SUPERB. Completely innovative cuisine and they pulled it off marvelously. Of special note were the goat sweetbreads (didn 't know they would be that good) and duck confit that was as good as any I 've had. Along with a bottle of fantastic Argentinian merlot, our check was approximately 80 US dollars for the evening. That ladies and gentlemen is value! I hate to give a restaurant all "5 "s when I 'm rating but I honestly couldn 't figure out what to give less than an excellent score. If you 're in Buenos Aires and are looking for adventurous and delicious cuisine in a gorgeous space, make reservations at 647.

Beautiful beyond our expectations. great menu with a few good choices for my vegetarian partner (hard to do in BA sometimes). Courteous and subtle staff. Fab lavetory even. We have eaten at Alinea in Chicago but this is the 2nd best meal we have ever had. Dessert was orgasmic. Did not review wine list...cocktails were too fun. Reasonably priced for the amazing meal.

We would have to agree with the title of Best Restaurant in BA for 647. We went recently as our final meal of the holiday after hearing many good things and found them out to be true. The food was really a level above any other place we had ate and it was a wonderful way to say goodbye to the city.
