We ordered a bottle of champagne but had to ask three times over a twenty-minute period for glasses and an ice bucket. The service was extremely slow and we had to ask for plates when our entrees were brought out. It seemed like the staff were more focused on take away meals. I ordered the chicken and cashew stir fry, which tasted like it was boiled. Even the cashews seemed boiled. I wouldn't rush back anytime soon. There were three young kids working there who didn't seem to care much and didn't know what they were doing. Cleaning cloths and cleaning fluid were left in our face, which wasn't a great impression. The owners were in the kitchen and seemed oblivious to what was happening in the restaurant. I also found the prices to be overpriced for what you get.
My family got takeout on a Sunday evening. We ordered chicken chilli basil fried rice, which was disappointingly sticky and clumpy with very little basil and chilli. The rice also had large clumps of broccoli. I would give it a 4 out of 10. The fried rice with beef was plain and similarly sticky, earning a score of 3 out of 10. The chicken pad Thai had overcooked noodles that were stuck together, resulting in a bland taste. I would rate it a 5 out of 10. The Chiang Mai beef was better in comparison, receiving a score of 7 out of 10. The total cost of our meal was $80.
Whenever we visit the Sunshine Coast, we always make sure to dine at Thai Frenzy. We first tried it about two years ago and the food is just as excellent now as it was back then. The flavors are fresh and authentic. We highly recommend the green curry and Pad Thai, but all of the dishes are fantastic. Having been to Thailand myself, I can confidently say that Thai Frenzy is just as delicious as the meals you can find overseas.
Water delivered to the table upon being seated and the food order was taken promptly. We shared the delicious duck curry and BBQ Pork and a small serve of jasmine rice. The serves were generous in size and unfortunately we couldn’t squeeze in a dessert. The service was spot on being attentive but not overbearing. We will be back for the duck curry.
You would expect better food for the prices they charge. If we'd paid under $20 for a main we wouldn't have had such expectations but they're charging higher than average prices for an ordinary meal in an ordinary style eating house. $70 for 3 X dishes and a bowl of cold rice. Really?! Sorry we won't be back. Definitely won't be back.
