I've been a customer of Kumar's restaurant for 4 years. Unfortunately, for about 6 months, many of his employees have gone and the quality fell off immediately while the prices were higher. I and my husband went a few times in the last few months, hoping that the food will be better as it was before. Both last two visits Vindaloo dishes had uncooked potatoes and the sauce was a bland flavor, the feeling of a tomato concentrate Paste Sourness. The lamb Madras had a bad and overcooked lamb and tasted more like a common stew instead of an Indian dish. The saffron rice, which had previously Sulfanas/Gold raisins and other spices, gave a special taste; now is saffron rice regular jasmine rice with some curcuma powder. The appetizers are still quite good, along with their sauces. In addition to the changes in food quality, services are increasingly poor. We were two days ago, the restaurant had a total of about 20 customers. I and my husband ordered an appetizer board that came to us in about an hour while the main course came in more than 2.5 hours when we ordered it. We spent more than 3 hours to get our food and another half an hour to get our left food. I'm really sorry for the actual situation of this restaurant, especially that earlier this was our favorite restaurant in the city and the best Indian food we have tried so far from anywhere in the world. I think more responsibility, much given motivation for the employees and a great dedication from the administration can probably help to get back what it was earlier.
Super slow delivery and pathetic food. Might get better service and food at some other Indian restaurants in Bucharest
Very tasty, varied food. on request, can be prepared on various hot and spicy levels. Preferably the boss is at the place : he is an exceptional chef!
I bumped into this restaurant and thought I’ll give it a go being an Indian, I usually try non Indian cuisine when visiting places. Romanian cuisine is quite thin when it comes to feeding vegetarians! . The restaurant is beautiful decorated, with ample amount of spacing and pleasant ambiance. Other than few people, it wasn’t crowded. The service was good with wide variety of dishes on the menu although I found the menu a bit pricey . I ordered take away as the family were so tired after a long day! The dishes could’ve been improved in taste dishes were too oily, less spice; my wife found the kadahi fish off putting though: we could’ve provided the instant feedback if it wasn’t for takeaway
