One of the few restaurants that always offer good food and service in the Herastrau area. The kitchen is open and you can see the cooks that prepare your food. Pasta and coffee are particularly good.
Eating is not bad at all, interior and design on point, but for waiters and service I must give a ZERO! They also accused us of a glass of average champagne 50€! Never again, avoid this restaurant!
I didn t like the reservation style We came and we found 2 empty tables. But they gave us the worst small table located on back lateral of the building. We were with the kids, 4 persons and we all eat and make normal consumation...I sugest to all customers to avoid the back lateral tables. No view, feeling like eating in a cage, not nice feeling to eat in herastrau top restaurants. Burger good, one pizza and pasta basic not good, one spinach pizza good, and desert it was identic cu ikea style desert!! Basic, empty, my child who loves sweets didn t finish it and didn t like it In that period i checked and also that 2 tables from main garden were emply. I checked the tables during my dinner , 4 times, empty.When we left the local still empty that 2 tables and another3, total 5 empty tables and they put us 4 persons to eat to lateral back table. Shame for the atitude and for bad organisation, shame becouse you have this kind of keeping what is good empty and lying that they are reserved. This policy of reservation table we know it but for yesterday your place has bad food, worst desert, and zero view, you made us distroy our friday dinner ! Shame!
Il Locale is by the side of a nice lake some 6 kms NW of downtown. The restaurant is just by the edge of a seemingly rather affluent residential area. It is in the middle of a very green park and alongside quite a number of other, high-end restaurants. Nice garden, quite a choice of Italian pasta and risotto dishes and traditional "secondi". Pizza is also available. We had an appetizer, a pasta dish and a risotto, all reasonably good, risotto even excellent. The service was intelligent, no wine temperature issues such as it happens so often in this region. A pretty good bottle of white from Transilvania (Tarnava wine region) was served in the ice bucket. Having said that, just one remark. No disappointment with quality. However, the same dinner in a comparable place (for quality, location is not comparable) in Spain or even Italy would definitely cost less, perhaps 30% or so. (The wine was close to €20. In Italy or Spain, let alone Portugal, €20 buys in a decent restaurant even better, the same quality would be in the €12-15 range.) It looks like the price advantages in the hospitality sector of "emerging EU countries" disappear as soon as we move not even to "fine dining", just to above the standard local quality. These places obviously do not compete for foreign tourist (not too many seen around anyway). Rather, we believe they aim at the obviously deep pocket of the neighboring hungry wealthy.
