Excellent food and great service and atmosphere!
The food was sort of okay, not necessarily bad, but also not to my liking... Prices are a bit on the high end of things and they have some forced meal combos (minimum of two paellas the double portion being pretty small) which i didn't like. Some of the drinks (whisky and such) were unavailable.
I had heard only good things about Alioli, so my visit to their Popa Tatu restaurant was quite a letdown. I wanted to order Paella de Mariscos, priced at 54 Ron, but the waiter informed me that I actually cannot order paella for one, I must order two paellas because they don 't have pans for single paella . I would then argue the correct price of the paella in the menu should be 108 Ron because if you come alone, you either pay the double portion or no paella for you! I decided to switch to Chicken with salmon and shrimps, and it turned out to be the wrong decision. The portion was big 3 pieces of chicken on the plate, but one of the pieces had raw parts as it was thicker. I put it aside and informed the waiter about this. He apologized and indeed asked me if I want to have it changed, and I replied No as I said, the portion was big and I still had two pieces of chicken that I assumed were ok to be eaten, as in cooked. Honestly, I would have expected him to apologize and take the plate of uncooked food back to the kitchen, no question asked, but at least he asked. I 'll give him that. Raw chicken aside, everything on my plate was just bland. Salt and pepper tried to help but to no avail this chicken was gone, and barely done! My boyfriend had the Chicken lemon and his food was just as bland as mine. We also ordered the Croquettes Jamon which were simply too awful to eat a mushy potatoes mixture deep fried with no taste whatsoever. We both took a bite and left them on the table. The only tasty thing on the table was their alioli sauce, but how much sauce can one eat?!? Bottom line, we won 't go there anymore, but feel free to try it out yourselves to form an opinion. I hope someone at the restaurant reads these comments and tries to improve things there.
They must not miss this restaurant when they go to bukarest. probably this restaurant will be different to the cousin, with the Spanish accent to eat here added. it will be the best place they have visited with the selection of the food, the wine selection or the other drink. recommended place for the first time visitor in bukarest
