La Placita Cafe - Buckeye

Service was very good! The entrance to the restaurant was strange. We entered from the street and walked through the restaurant to the back cantina, but the cantina looked clean. The food left something to be desired. The elote appetizer tasted like canned sweet corn. No char on the corn and straight out of the fridge. I also ordered the green chili burrito. I counted a total of 5 pieces of meat that tasted like corned beef and the rest of the burrito was a gravy like substance, no green chili. Unfortunately the staff can't compensate for the sole reason people come to a restaurant and that is good food.

The service was GREAT! The food, however, was absolutely disgusting. The salsa tastes more like pizza sauce than salsa. The red enchilada sauce was flavorless. The meat on the enchiladas was dry and poorly seasoned. It was not worth paying half of what we did.

This is authentic Mexican food to me, the staff is friendly and helpful and very accommodating, even down to asking if the temperature was okay for me! The food is always huge and delicious, every new person we bring, loves it! We will definitely recommend to others, but selfishly don’t want too many people coming, so they won’t have room for me, hee, hee!

Hope you don’t mind waiting. Employees are friendly but inattentive. 1 hour and no apps or food still. If the group ahead of you is bigger, they will ignore you.Food was fine, nothing special. I ordered queso dip and they brought it AFTER the meal. Mostly flavorless. 3 different waitstaff ignored us most of the night. Really don’t plan on coming back.
