This place is consistently good. Never had a bad meal here. I give it 5 stars for that. It's not always the most forward thinking restaurant. The menu has remained pretty much the same for many years, but they are a solid restaurant and have everything on their menu down pat. I had the salmon which I like plain and it was delicious. The peppers appetizer was really good and I think that was a recent addition. Their drinks are always good and it's nice to have the choice of a $9 glass of wine if you want that. I hope they stay open forever because this is a great go to for so many occasions when you just want to relax and not worry about your guests finding something they like. Kudos to a great restaurant. You have stood the test of time.
EXCELLENT food, friendly waiting staff. Would highly recommend you will not be disappointed
The experience here can only be called painfully mediocre. As an appetizer we had fried lobster fritters that were all right, but you couldn't really taste the lobster. For dinner I had the New York steak with garlic herbal butter and potatoes. The potatoes were decent, although they were so laborious that my dining room partner thought they came out of a box. They didn't. Steak was okay. It was perfectly operable, but not something I've ever longed. I was in several restaurants that offer a better steak than those offered here.
I attended this with my grandmother and mother as a farewell party. I had rarely ordered the Ribeye Steak Medium. When it arrived, it looked excellent, but after cutting I discovered that it was closer to medium well then medium was rare. This happens now and then, so I politely asked to send it back to the kitchen for a new one. In my opinion, this is a fairly normal thing that happens so often in restaurants. However, I was amazed when the waiter came back with my steak in many pieces and insisted to argue with me that half was medium rare and that I should be satisfied with it. When I insisted on giving it back, I thought that was the end. No, the next time he came back to fill drinks (without my new steak) he argued that it was actually medium rare and it was the lighting that had confused me. I thought it was rude and an attempt to embarrass me in front of my grandmother. But that was not the end, because when he brought my new steak, the waiter insisted on comparing the old one. The food was good when I had the right thing, but with three arguments about simply sending a steak back because it was boiled too much is unacceptable.
